Extension and refurbishment of this beautiful Grade II listed property in Brixton.  This project involved addressing the shortcomings of a large house with a poor relationship with it's extensive garden setting where an extension and new stair are proposed to connect the house with the garden. The curved solid stone stair reflects the curved bays of the main building and absorbs the geometry of the plot while directing towards the centre of the garden. The metal roof to the extension leans to the stair as its subsidiary and companion. Both elements serve to integrate the house with the extensive garden beyond.
